The Bremer County Historical Society met, Tuesday, October 11th at 7 PM at the museum. Eleven board members were present: Lindell, Mackamul, Hoffman, Heinemann, Meyer, Drenkow, Robinson, Blanchard, Everding, Buls, Hoodjer. Absent: Jahnke & Magnall.

Curator's Report: A postmaster appointment certificate signed by T. Roosevelt that the BCHS possessed was sent to Cass County.
Heinemann met with Midwest Storage Solutions out of Omaha. It would run close to $1,000 to redo the shelving in the office.
Old Business: Blanchard reported that Dean's Light Box recommended calling if a fuse blows when running a dehumidifier. She has applied for an in-kind donation from the local Wal-Mart for a garden hose and dehumidifier. She also asked about motion sensor cost for the lights in the museum. They would run $125-$150 per light switch. It helps with artifacts to only have lights on when needed. Heinemann suggested getting room-darkening shades first.
Structural Engineer: Mackamul reported to the board that she received correspondence from the structural engineer that she passed around. She has not heard back from the gutter people.
Flea Market: November 3rd Jan's pick-up truck will be loaded. November 4th unloading can begin at 7 am. Booth needs to be set up by 11 AM. Hours on the 4th are 11 AM - 7 PM. On Saturday, November 5th from 8 AM - 5 PM. Priscilla will provide the tables and shelving.
Fourth Grade Project: Terry has designed the activity packet. He has not heard from Pam Egli. The next step is to line up the tours.
Future Pioneer Craft Class: Blanchard is setting up knitting classes for May. The charge will be determined. The $2500 Wal-mart grant will cover the setting-up costs and supplies.
Other Business: Mackamul told about an offer to donate a wheelbarrow made by a person that helped found the town of Denver.
Outside U.S. Flag: The flag has gone missing. The board discussed replacing it. The matter will proceed with the building committee.
Blanchard brought up how the historical society recruits volunteers. The board decided on having the Administration Committee work on that topic.
Next meeting will be held Tuesday, November 15th at 7 PM. Week delay due to Election Day. Location will be announced. Motion to adjourn at 7:56 PM by Robinson. Seconded by Blanchard. All approved.
