The Bremer County Historical Society met Tuesday evening, July 18th at Drenkow's office at 7 PM. Five board members present were Drenkow, Everding, Heinemann, Magnall, and Mackamul. Absent: Robinson, Blanchard, Meyer, Hoffman, Buls, Hoodjer.
Bill Werner from the Economic Development Office came to answer questions on the road construction project and the water line replacement.
The road project will affect the museum building in August. The 14th would be the earliest to the middle area of August. It will be in September that the water line replacement would occur if the board approves replacement to the building. Cost is $1,000 for an one-inch line. The Historical Society's share of the front project will be $2,100. It can be paid all at once or $210 per month over a ten year period.
As far as the gutter project timing, Bill recommended doing it as soon possible. The sidewalk will be torn up with only 4 feet left in front of the building. The museum will need to use signs for parking in back and walk around to the door.
They hope to get the project completed by Thanksgiving. If not, and the weather gets bad, the sidewalk area will be rocked until next spring.
Motion will be delayed until the next regular meeting in August for approval of the water line to the museum building.
