The Bremer County Historical Society board met Tuesday at 7 PM at Drenkow’s office with 9 board members present: Blanchard, Buls, Drenkow, Everding, Heinemann, Hoffman, Magnall, Mueller, Robinson. Absent: Hoodjer, Mackamul, Meyer. Guests present: Andrew Bell.
Andrew has agreed to join the board. Drenkow made the motion to approve Bell as a board member. Magnall made the second. All approved.
Minutes were provisionally approved. Treasurer’s Report was read by Hoffman. Balance in the checking account is $14,535.21. Robinson made the motion to approve the report. Mueller made the second. Motion carried. Hoffman shared that the web page could be paid for by checks. Hoffman will start with sending money for 3 months. Then send monthly if we are staying with Wix.
At 7:30 Robinson left the meeting due to baby problems at home.
The United Way update was moved to the Jan. 2018 meeting.
Collections: Blanchard has taken photo files A & B to begin digitizing.
Other business: Benjamin Bond, a friend of Bell, is interested in helping as an intern during Christmas break. Bell will help Bond get in touch with Jan.
Phone and internet service was discussed. No decisions were made. Some board members thought it was a non-issue at this time.
Amperage Marketing: A proposal was made. Drenkow will send it out to board members as a pdf to study.
Snow Removal: Drenkow offered to hire Wapsie Pines at his expense.
May Annual Meeting: Bell will follow on his idea of having a Warburg student be the presenter and incorporate this as independent study or class assignment in some way.
Motion to adjourn at 8:30 PM by Blanchard. Buls and Mueller tied on the second.
The next meeting will be held January 9th at 7 PM at Drenkow’s office.
