Curator’s Report: Heinemann reported that a new display is now in the Veterans room. “Law Enforcement in Bremer County”. Two new volunteers are working in the museum: Brenda Walton and Sherri Leyden. The Bremer County Fair exhibit will be on Friday, August 3rd. Our display would be smaller since we are sharing with BCGS and the Poor Farm. Jan will try to do it again this year. Jan would like to move out 2 display cases out of the dish room. Work is almost done in the garden area. She needs a volunteer to trim the yew bush.
The board would like Jan to prioritize, which cases she would like to remove so the board can discuss it. The board suggested a blurb in the paper about the new display. Blanchard will promote the display on Facebook. Bell is willing to help with Facebook. Hundley made the motion to remove the yew bush since it is overgrown and plant new bushes instead. Bell made the 2nd. Motion carried.
Approval of new board members: Mackamul asked the board for approval of letting Dave Huser, Brenda Walton, Jim Hundley, and Pat Coffie join the board of directors. Blanchard made the second. All approved.

Museum Hours/Holidays: Coffie talked to the board about having the museum open during some holidays like Memorial Day. The board gave approval for a committee to develop this programming idea and bring back a report to the next meeting.
Events for the season: Heritage Day Parade planning has begun. Peggy Hamilton, Magnall, and Everding have chosen a Wizard of Oz float idea to fit this year’s Heritage Days “No Place Like Home” theme. Fundraising ideas were thrown out and the board decided to investigate Stage Coach rides. Buls and Coffie will look into fees involved and report back.
Membership Card Drive: Mackamul presented costs involved and routes available for “Every Door Direct Mail”. She also had labels ready to send 40 cards out at the regular rate. The board decided to wait on those until Mackamul could report back on what flyers would cost to insert in the Bremer County Newspaper and shopper. She will also get quotes on printing the flyer.
Update on Speaker Circuit Programming: Everding is starting to interview possible speakers for the events.
Insulation: Mackamul proposed getting insulation quotes for the area above the attic and the 3rd floor attic part. Hundley volunteered to get quotes.
Other business: Coffie suggested starting a separate bank account for a “Building Fund”. Huser volunteered to talk to Waverly Utilities about internet possibilities for the museum. Facebook notices could be posted on items the museum needs. The board also reviewed the good points (Museum Happenings with photos) about the May Annual Meeting and some things that could be done differently next year (Possibly displaying instead of reading Minutes and Treasurer Report).
June 12th is the next meeting at 7 PM to be held at the museum. Adjournment was at 9:03 PM. Hoodjer made the motion to adjourn. Blanchard the second. All approved.
